Advantage of Different Web Browsers
Gmail already provides default way of opening two accounts on the same browser. But sometimes, you may not like it this way.
Then another way to open different email accounts of the same service provider is using multiple internet browsers. You can open one account in IE and another account in Chrome and another account in Firefox from the same service provider (like Yahoo or Gmail).
Now if you are just like me using Google Adwords account to research for your “keywords” then using different browsers gives an added advantage. You can open your Gmail in one browser and your Google Adwords account (if it’s connected with different Google account) in another browser. By this way, you can get your desktop email notifications and at the same time complete your research on your blog “keywords”.
How do I use this ?
I have a Google Adwords account with “United States” as my location. But the email account I use has “India” as the default location. So, whenever I do a keyword research, the “Local Monthly Searches” returned are for India and not for United States (if I use the email account as Adwords account). But I want to target traffic for USA.
So either I need to change the location every time I login into my Adwords account or use a “United States” account. So I use Internet Explorer 9 for “United States” Adwords account and Chrome 20.x.x.x browser for checking my mail.
Another use is when I want to see the PR and SERP results for a particular keyword. Most of you know that, when you logged into your Google account, your website or blog results may appear on the first page. So this way the Google search results are not accurate. (or for that matter you are not looking at results what others from anywhere in the world are looking at!)
So in order to stop this conflict or confusion, its better to use email in one internet browser like Chrome and check your SERP results in another web browser like Firefox 12. The added advantage of using Firefox is you can use add-ons to view PR beside search results.
Remarks
Using internet browsers for different purposes is beneficial if you have lot of RAM and CPU power. If you are working on an old PC and are opening 20 tabs in Chrome your computer will hang. So these techniques are for the latest computers.
My configuration : Intel Core 2 Duo 2.93 Ghz, 8 GB RAM, Windows 7 Ultimate – 32bit, NVIDIA GeForce 210 graphics card.
